Because, there\u2019s little room for slacking off or procrastinating.<\/p>\n<p>To be honest, we\u2019re pretty good at staying on task.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s not all down to our laser-focused minds. There&#8217;s a whole host of free productivity apps and tools we use to stay on track.<\/p>\n<p>And, I&#8217;d like to share them with you, so&nbsp;<em>you<\/em>&nbsp;can be more productive too.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So, here they are, the&nbsp;<strong>six free productivity apps we use every day to stay on task:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><strong>#1: Slack<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Here\u2019s a little secret for you:<\/p>\n<p>Share As Image HQ isn\u2019t actually a secret underground bunker.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a group-chat in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slack.com\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.slack.com\">Slack<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re working as part of a team this app will save you <strong>hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>email, phone calls and getting Dave from accounts to <i>finally&nbsp;<\/i>get back to you on that document you sent him.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1194\" src=\"https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.37.16-1024x433.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 10.37.16\" width=\"600\" height=\"254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.37.16-1024x433.png 1024w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.37.16-300x127.png 300w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.37.16-768x325.png 768w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.37.16-600x254.png 600w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.37.16.png 1099w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Being a solid five-hour time zone ahead of the rest of the team means that getting stuff done on time can be hard. Especially if I need a quick response from Adam or Oliver about it.<\/p>\n<p>Slack has fixed that problem.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of waiting for emails to come back to me, I just get a little slack notification and I\u2019m able to dive right in.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>#2: Rescue Time<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rescuetime.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rescue Time<\/a> has kept me in check for the last three months.<\/p>\n<p>As a result&nbsp;I\u2019ve been able to <strong>reduce<\/strong> the amount I work&nbsp;without affecting <strong>how much<\/strong> work I get done (or how much money I make).<\/p>\n<p>The free version tracks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How many hours you work<\/li>\n<li>Where you spend your time<\/li>\n<li>How much of that time is productive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then delivers it to your inbox every week as a neat little summary, like this:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1195\" src=\"https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.38.42.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 10.38.42\" width=\"600\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.38.42.png 805w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.38.42-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.38.42-768x340.png 768w, https:\/\/getstencil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Screen-Shot-2015-08-27-at-10.38.42-600x265.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can choose what counts as a productive use of your time too.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you\u2019re a Social Media Manager, you can put down your time on Twitter as productive.<\/p>\n<p>What I <em>love<\/em> about this App is that it almost makes a game out of Productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Got a Productivity score of 65% last week?
